  Hotel was in the middle of a remodel, so I won't be as harsh as I would like to be. I understand that the bar and restaurant need to be closed while work is being done, but not the vending machines. Literally every coke machine in the hotel was sold out of every overpriced drink(20oz. At 2 dollars). When asked at the front desk how this could be so the clerk informed me "there were kids here this weekend." Oh, well then, that explains everything. It must have been the kids there that made it impossible for them to call the distributor and get the machines refilled instead of just shrugging their shoulders at paying guests... or maybe it was the kids that put the horrible ripped desk chair in my room, or made the phone not work. I think it's more likely that shoddy work ethic followed up by below average management (albeit coupled with the remodel)is what caused this hotels problems, which is why it is being taken over by best western. Good riddance, Parke Regency. You most assuredly won't be missed.

  Though I did a hotel comment card.... Though I doubt that it finds its way to management. The reason for that statement is the staff. I wont go so far as to say that they need to be replaced. I don't think they do, however, a lot of retraining is needed. Their staff is personable and friendly; their initiative is sorely lacking. When i was a guest the ENTIRE hotel was empty except for 10 guests. This is due to the fact that the place is being renovated. The renovation was not listed on booking dot com or at least not in a section where people who use the site regularly would notice(this was pointed out in my comment card). The issues due to the staff's laziness didn't stop there. There was nothing to drink at the hotel and the restaurant was closed due to the renovation. No guest likes paying two dollars a drink and no guest likes walking half a mile to get one at the gas station. But to be told you have no other remedy when there is a industrial cooler behind the front desk (full of alcoholic beverages) because they had a hotel full of guest a day before and those children are the reason not even diet beverages are available... SOUNDS LIKE BULLSHIT *I used to own a vending company and all they would have to do is call for unscheduled servicing* SO LIKE I SAID BEFORE RETAINING IS NEEDED. Hopefully after the renovation the issues in the room will be resolved. Unless the children were the reason why the office chair in the room was ripped up, the coffee was not in the room, the phone was not in working and maintaining a decent temperature was impossible.
